If there has ever been a piece of jewelry or an accessory that you have always wanted but have never been able to find in other stores, you should try visiting Miki Leigh Jewelry. On the corner of the square at 2 North Jackson St., Suite 101, your dream jewelry piece awaits you.

Miki Caldwell has been making jewelry for over 22 years. She was a hairdresser and sold her pieces as a side hustle while working in the salon.

When Miki decided to retire from being a hairdresser, she found that she needed to experience something else that interested her and brought her joy. She was still making jewelry so starting her own boutique seemed like a new and fun adventure. Her supportive husband Butler Caldwell thought it was a great idea.

After coming up with a plan for her boutique, Miki had to choose where to open. Not originally from Monroe County, Miki considered other areas, but she said that in the few times she had visited she just “loved the town and the community.”

Soon she will be celebrating her store’s one-year anniversary since opening. “I’m really excited,” Miki expressed. She spoke about how her amazing accomplishment of being in business for one year wouldn’t have been possible without the support she has received from customers and neighboring boutiques. “There were people welcoming me before I even opened,” she laughed.

Miki specializes in creating jewelry and accessories that are beautifully handcrafted. Her store glitters and shines with all of her impressive inventory.

Michelle Spangelo and her daughter Blake were customers who couldn’t have nicer things to say about not only the items offered but also about Miki herself. “She can make any vision come true,” Michelle commented.

There are items already made in the store, but Miki says she loves to help someone create special pieces that mean something to them. It is what makes her store different from any other jewelry shop. There is a desire to preserve and create new memories that can be expressed through jewelry and accessories. “Bring your ideas to me,” she said, encouraging others to come in and collaborate on ideas with her.

If you do find yourself looking for an item that you have never been able to acquire, or create, take the time to go see Miki at Miki Leigh Jewelry. She will happily find a way to make all of your jewelry dreams come true.
