On the heels of last month’s heartwarming father-daughter dance, Hubbard Elementary once again opened its doors for a night of joy and connection—this time for mothers and sons.
The Mother/Son Dance may have had a slightly smaller crowd, but it certainly didn’t lack in energy, excitement, or charm.
From the moment I stepped inside, it was clear that the event had been thoughtfully planned to make lasting memories.
Three lively photo booths captured silly, sweet, and stylish snapshots throughout the night, while a professional photographer returned to offer beautiful portraits—perfect keepsakes of a night neither moms nor sons will soon forget.

Of course, no dance is complete without snacks, and the kitchen was buzzing with families refueling between songs and activities.
But perhaps the biggest hit of the evening was the LEGO station, hosted by Forsyth’s very own Block Brigade.

Whether building spaceships, superheroes, or wild new creations, the boys (and a few moms!) couldn’t get enough of the hands-on fun.

What struck me most were the moments in between—the little boys breaking out their best dance moves in the center of the floor, the arms slung around friends’ shoulders, the laughter shared over a pile of LEGO bricks, and the way moms beamed as they captured it all on camera.
It was an evening full of music, movement, and meaningful moments—proof that the magic of these school events lies in the connections they foster.
Monroe County continues to impress with the way it brings families together, and the Mother/Son Dance at Hubbard Elementary was another beautiful example of that.
